Comparison

Denoise vs Adobe Podcast Enhance: which one should you use?

Adobe Podcast Enhance is a web tool that uploads your audio to Adobe and rebuilds the speech so it sounds like a studio microphone; Denoise is a phone app that removes the noise on the device, keeps the recorded voice, and also cleans the sound of videos. Pick Adobe for a quick studio polish of a podcast you recorded on a computer, and Denoise for private, offline clean-up of voice memos, voice notes, lectures and videos on your phone.

Compare them on your own recording in three steps

  1. Pick a test clip

Choose a minute of your own recording with the noise you care about: wind, a café, a fan, a big room.

  2. Run it through both

Upload it at podcast.adobe.com (you need a free Adobe account), and open the same clip in Denoise and tap Denoise.

  3. Listen on headphones

Check three things: is every word still there, does the voice still sound like the speaker, and how much noise is left. Keep the one that sounds right to you.

Denoise's own result: a public-domain LibriVox reading under heavy background noise, and the unedited output of DeepFilterNet, the model family Denoise runs on your phone. We don't host Adobe's output; try your own clip in both.

Good to know

  • Choose Adobe Podcast Enhance if you record podcasts on a computer, your audio is already fairly clean, and you want it to sound like a studio microphone.
  • Choose Denoise if the recording is on your phone, has real-world noise such as wind, traffic or crowds, is a video or a long lecture, or is private and shouldn't be uploaded.
  • On a phone, Adobe also offers speech enhancement in the free Adobe Premiere mobile app (Enhance audio).

Frequently asked questions

Is Adobe Podcast Enhance free?

There is a free plan with limits: audio only, 30 minutes and 500 MB per file, one hour of processing a day, and an Adobe account. Video, longer files and the strength controls need Firefly Pro ($19.99 a month in the US, October 2026).

Does Denoise upload my audio?

No. Everything runs on your phone, and it works in airplane mode.

Which one sounds more natural?

Denoise keeps the voice that was recorded and removes what is around it. Adobe rebuilds the voice, which can sound more polished on clean recordings but can change how the speaker sounds; Adobe's own FAQ covers results that sound like a different language when the speaker is hard to hear or the noise is heavy.

Does Denoise work in China?

Yes. Denoise is on the App Store in China and cleans recordings on the phone. Adobe says Adobe Podcast is not available in China.
